Configuration of Fault-tolerant Automation Systems (AS)

Fault-tolerant AS 412-3H (768 KB RAM, 512 KB each for program and 256 KB each for data): Contact your RK Controls representative for support on developing a complete bill of material. Once configured, it will be made up of the following components: 2 x CPU 412-3H, 2 x CP 443-1 communications processors for connection to Industrial Ethernet (optional), 1 x UR2-H rack (2 x 9 slots), 4 x sync modules (for max 10 meters), 2 x fiber-optic connecting cable for sync modules (1 m), 2 x PS 407 power supplies, redundant design: 10A for 120/230 V AC/DC or 2 x PS 405 power supplies: 10A for 24 VDC, 4 x Backup battery, Type AA, 1.9 Ah, 2 x memory cards of 1 MB RAM each.

Fault-tolerant AS 414-4H (2.8 MB RAM, 1.4 MB each for program and data): Contact your RK Controls representative for support on developing a complete bill of material. Once configured, it will be made up of the following components: 2 x CPU 414-4H, 2 x CP 443-1 communications processors for connection to Industrial Ethernet (optional), 1 x UR2-H rack, 4 x sync modules, 2 x fiber-optic sync cables (1 m), 2 x PS 407 power supplies, redundant design: 10A for 120/230 V AC/DC or 2 x PS 405 power supplies: 10A for 24 VDC, 4 x Backup batteries, Type AA, 1.9 Ah, 2 x memory cards of 2 MB RAM each or 2 x memory cards of 4 MB RAM each.

Fault-tolerant AS 417-4H (30 MB RAM, 15 MB each for program and data): Contact your RK Controls representative for support on developing a complete bill of material. Once configured, it will be made up of the following components: 2 x CPU 417-4H, 2 x CP 443-1 communications processors for connection to Industrial Ethernet (optional), 1 x UR2-H rack, 4 x sync modules, 2 x fiber-optic sync cables (1 m), 2 x PS 407 power supplies, redundant design: 10A for 120/230 V AC/DC or 2 x PS 405 power supplies: 10A for 24 VDC, 4 x Backup batteries, Type AA, 1.9 Ah, 2 x memory cards of 4 MB RAM each, 2 x memory cards of 8 MB RAM each or 2 x memory cards of 16 MB RAM each.

Configuration of ET 200M I/O racks to be used with Fault-tolerant Automation Systems (AS). ET 200M is widely used as it can accommodate profibus communications redundancy from the H CPUs in the CPU rack to the I/O.

  1. Profile rail for hot swapping: Available in 482 mm (19"), Part # 6ES71951GA000XA0, or 530 mm (20.86"), Part # 6ES71951GF300XA0

  2. A 24VDC power supply is required to power the I/O rack

  3. Bus modules for hot swapping: Need one (1) Part # 6ES71957HD100XA0 to accommodate two (2) IM 153-2 High Feature interface modules for design of redundant communications to the ET200M I/O rack. You can also purchase the so called IM 153 redundancy bundle (Part # 6ES71532AR030XA0) made up of two (2) profibus DP IM 153-2 High Feature interface modules (Part # 6ES71532BA020XB0) + one (1) active bus module (Part # 6ES71957HD100XA0) for the IM 153-2 to plug into. You also need bus modules for the I/O. First, you need to identify if your I/O modules are 40 or 80 mm wide (see "width" under dimensions entry in module specs in ST70 Catalog, S7300 section). For the 40 mm wide I/O modules; you can use one (1) bus module (Part # 6ES71957HB000XA0) that accommodates two (2) 40mm I/O cards. For the 80 mm wide I/O modules, you can use a different bus module (Part # 6ES71957HC000XA0) that accommodates one (1) I/O card.

Configuration of single-port profibus devices (such as variable frequency drives, ET 200S I/O, etc.) that need to be on the redundant profibus path to the H CPUs.

  3. A Y-Link (Part # 6ES71971LA040XA0) will be used as a bridge between the single-port profibus device and the redundant path to the fault-tolerant automation system used. The Y-Link is made up of the following parts: Two (2) IM 153-2 High Feature interface modules (Part # 6ES71532BA020XB0), one (1) Y-coupler (Part # 6ES76547HY000XA0) that includes an RS 485 repeater, one (1) IM 157 bus module (Part # 6ES71957HD800XA0) for two IM 153-2 High Feature modules and finally one (1) Y-coupler bus module. Evaluation of the Y-Link diagnostics (and hence indirectly of the connected DP standard slaves) is supported by driver blocks.
